Wav Sound Recording
Encoding WAV files is a different process for nearly every computer, there are a lot of different things that can go wrong, and there are a lot of variables, including, the sound card you have, your recording source, wires, operating system and sound software you are using to record the sound.. I can't help you through the whole process, but I can give you some tips...

What You Need:-

  • A PC capable of playing & recording sound.
  • Microsoft Windows (this tutorial uses Windows 95).
  • A recording source, such as a mic or CD-Rom.
  • Sound Software such as Sound Recorder (free with Windows) or Cool Edit.
Some Details:-

  • Please remember that almost every computer is different, for example, the record process for my own computer is a lot more complicated than most machines, therefore, the examples I use will be from another computer, which is easier to understand.

  • When you buy a computer, it is usually already setup to record sound, sometimes that's not the case, this tutorial will start with the software, it cannot help with the hardware.

  • I made this tutorial so that I can cut down on the majority of my email (which ask about Wav's), if you have extra details which you need help with, please contact every possible avenue before emailing me.

  • If your computer isn't working properly, don't bother with this tutorial.

  • I cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made or any damages caused to your machine.

  • Printing out these tutorials helps a lot.
